Court Update: Isaac Noriega Completes Mental Evaluations, Competency Hearing Set for January 26, 2026

Since our last update on November 22, 2025, significant developments have occurred in the criminal case against Pastor Isaac Noriega. The court has formally ordered mental competency evaluations, appointed two doctors to examine Noriega, and set a competency hearing for January 26, 2026. Here is everything that has happened.

Pastor Isaac Noriega To Be Examined By Judge for Dementia Claim: Hearing Set for Nov 24, 2025

Pastor Isaac Noriega of Golden Dawn Tabernacle is charged with two criminal counts under A.R.S. 13-3620(A) for failing to report suspected child sexual abuse. These charges include one Class 6 felony and one Class 1 misdemeanor. Arizona law requires clergy and institutional leaders to report suspected abuse immediately to authorities. Noriega did not report, and is now facing criminal prosecution.

Court Update: Pre-Trial Conferences for Jose Mora and Isaac Noriega

Jose Mora – Pre-Trial Conference Rescheduled On September 2, 2025, 9:00-10:00AM, Jose Mora’s Public Defender Carter Santini, cited ongoing negotiations and requested that the court reschedule his pre-trial conference till the end of the month The judge granted the request and set a new date for Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 9:00 AM. We will continue monitoring this case as it develops.

Tucson Pastor Isaac Noriega in Court on Charges Related to Child Neglect

On July 31, 2025, former and current members of Golden Dawn Tabernacle (formerly Tabernaculo Emanuel) observed a significant milestone in their ongoing pursuit of justice and accountability. Pastor Isaac Noriega appeared in Pima County Superior Court for a case management hearing, addressing two criminal charges related to the alleged failure to report child neglect—a violation of Arizona’s mandated reporting law. He was accompanied by his son and Associate Pastor Matthew Noriega and Church Elder and Treasurer Samuel Mike Samaniego.
