In this article, we remember Lucy Noriega Rivera. Lucy was born on Aug 07, 1948 in California. She was born to parents Manuel and Lala Rivera and she lived in Anaheim, California. Lucy’s father was the pastor of the local “Asamblea Apostolica” church. She married Isaac Noriega (formerly known as Ismael Noriega) in Anaheim, California on September 22, 1963, when she was 15 years old, and Isaac (Ismael) was 21. They had five children, Lucinda, Gracie, Stephen, Matthew and Staceey Noriega. Lucy died on July 9, 2020, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 71, where she lived most of her life, as a Golden Dawn Tabernacle church member. She seemed to be a kind and quiet individual, mother, sister, and wife. She suffered with multiple medical conditions most of her life, but she is now resting peacefully.

I don’t know Lucy in particular but everything that is described about her is quite familiar to me, on the one hand, that mentality of adoring and valuing suffering, on the other hand, not being able to see everything else that was happening while they “suffered”. . A true cult of suffering and love of power (it seems that these two things always go together). It reminds me of the values of my former church of the message in Buenos Aires, where the cult of suffering and power was growing, I left there many years ago, living suffering and wanting to have power like them and see how they make others suffer was not part of my values, so I left, then, I started removing from my life all those who had the same manipulative values and cult of suffering, including family and friends. I consider it something old, from past generations, they lived like this, they had that example of life, they submitted to it, they did not know any other type of life, and even more so if it was proposed as “the life that pleases the Lord.” That kind of cult of suffering was introduced into our minds as “what pleases the Lord.” We today have the possibility of breaking with that tradition, we can choose a different life, happier, fuller, more conscious, more in harmony with nature, with what is natural, with what we really are, we are human beings, from the earth. We can be in control of our own lives. Pain, diseases, many times we have to go through these experiences, but suffering is almost always optional, we can choose not to live suffering. Reading the obituary, seeing the photos, it reminds me so much of my former pastor’s wife from the message. And there is no way that I see her as a poor victim of her husband who loves power and absolute control. She is as complicit as he is, she chose a life of suffering so as not to lose what she had, she chose not to lose her own family with her children when her husband destroyed and disarmed other families in her sight. Usually these women learn to manipulate in silence if they want to survive, manipulating information, manipulating the beast of their husband. But always, we can always choose another type of life, we always have the possibility of leaving, moving away, escaping from the psychopath, even science itself, even medicine itself, even the legal system gives you that option and possibility, escape from the manipulative psychopath. If not, a life of suffering and disease awaits you holding power.

poor sister Lucy, sisters of GD and and my mom. Keep quiet, submit and wear the smile every Sunday and Wednesday. These poor GD women are stripped of all individuality. No goals in life and all dreams of fulfilling them are crushed and deamonized by their teens. They think their only road to freedom is to get out of the house and get married. Sadly they find out their new young husband expects them to be exactly like their already broken and defeated moms. And their new husband becomes the tyrant Isaac want them to be. Now her husband is just like her dad she was trying to escape. This is the power pyramid Isaac has created (with him at the top) Isaac took complete control of my mom by blaming every thing on her being rebellious. I wish she would’ve known this was all a lie. She was just a flower growing and blooming into a beautiful individual and Isaac only has one cookie cutter that every sister must fit into. It didn’t matter my mom went to Isaac because my dad was smacking her around and threatening her very existence..it was always her fault for being rebellious and not submissive enough (just ask Isaac he’ll tell you) Isaac eventually made my dad an usher because he lied to Isaac in counseling. My mom was honest so he took her voice. Isaac was just trying to keep my dads money flowing into his empire. Isaac knows the men pay the tithes so know matter what acts of brutality my dad committed he was always the overseer of our house. I pray God opens the eyes of the people in GD.

Sickening how he was 21 and she. Was only 15 when they got married. Typical Isaac always abusing. He couldn’t of gotten someone older or same age because he knew they would of put him in his respective place. So he gets an innocent beautiful little girl. Sadly he harshly tamed her. We all saw it. But she’s still not innocent. She saw a lot of these horrible crimes and never spoke up. Or was it because she was just too scared?

Lucy wasn’t all innocent and sweet as they’re making her out to be. You can’t possibly be married to a monster like Isaac and stay innocent and sweet. Maybe she wasn’t as bad as he is but she definitely wasn’t sweet. She was the one who would tell Isaac when one of the girls from church wasn’t dressed “right”. And be an informant in the nursery when she was sick, because she would stay in the nursery during the service. There was an incident that several people noticed when one of the girls wanted to wash her feet during communion, and she brushed her to the side acting as if she didn’t see her. It sucks she died and she was sick for so many years and artificially kept alive, when other people aren’t encouraged to get medical treatment. Also it sucks she married a horrible human being but in the end she chose to stay in such a toxic situation.

wow so crazy to hear Isaac is “dedicating” a building and the tithe paying members bringing their 10% (month after month yr after yr.) Gathering in (GD) every Sunday and Wednesday as if God still dwells on an Old Testament building speaking through the high priest (Isaac). Following Isaac’s petty laws as if their Biblical. Guess what Isaac couple things you need to know.
- If your gonna make ‘em follow 1 law then your obligated to follow all 613 of em 2 “However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands..” ..(so quit treating the building like it’s a temple) Acts 7:48
- Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love God and others fulfills all the requirements! I pray God bring Isaac to his knees and humble him. God open the eyes of the people to see Isaac is not an intercessor. God allow the people to see Isaac does not hold the rights to their salvation and the buildings of GD are not where you dwell. Isaac tricked our parents/grandparents to believe he spoke for God.(lie) Remember if you alter your behaviour because you are frightened of how a pastor or man will react, you are being abuse. We are not under Old Testament laws or Isaac’s little rituals were he gets to play high priest!! Over time Isaac made clones of us all. Rigged up to his hitching post that stretched from Sunday to Wednesday. Spiritual abuse at its worst. Guess what ? Just like our parents before us we are Isaac’s slaves. We then grow up to be adults who are afraid to take risks of striking out on our own and scared to give Isaac boundaries (just like our parents) Bottom line is if you stay at GD you are all clones of Isaac. Jesus does not answer to Isaac or speak for him. You can stay living the lie or hiding your vacations, friends etc Or be free in Christ!
